WBENC NATIONAL CONFERENCE  2017

"If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself."

- Henry Ford

In late June, the 2rbConsulting leadership team attended the WBENC National Conference in Las Vegas. This year’s annual event was an even bigger deal than usual, as WBENC celebrated 20 years of history. The theme of this year’s event was "Join Forces. Succeed Together." This theme underscored the need to strengthen partnerships not only with valued Corporate and Government members but also between the many certified WBEs. Supplier diversity and working with other WBE member companies are two of the keys to success.

Approximately 4,000+ Women-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) company members attended the conference, in addition to the hundreds of Corporate attendees that were present, to connect and build new business relationships with the WBE community.

During the conference, programs that help build the WBENC community were highlighted, such as how to leverage business opportunities, the Reverse Mentor program, and the Student Entrepreneur Program.

Keynote speakers also shared their experiences and thoughts on how to continue building a networked group of women business leaders. Leaders such as Linda McMahon, the SBA Administrator, stated “Supporting women entrepreneurs has a trickle effect. It supports her company, her family, and her community.” Suzanne de Passe shared her experiences in the music business as a minority female over the past 20+ years, and Dr. Randal Pinkett shared his tips to make giving back to others a foundation for success: “…create greatness and not just success through your company.”

Finally, congratulations to our dear friend, Roger Cheng, for being awarded the #Hes4Shes award & recognition for his advocacy & championing the WBEs. Thank you for all of your continued support and for inspiring us all to continue working together to promote Women Owned Businesses.

The 2rbConsulting team came away with some great new business relationships, ideas on how to build our brand and connections with many more national and West Coast based WBE members. It was a successful and inspiring week, and we can't wait to see you all again at next year's conference!
